It was designed by California-based Lit Motors. Surprisingly, a group of scientists have announced that by the end of 2014 it could become production. In addition, Lit Motors is also developing recharge scooter and foldable scooter for the transport of goods. This vehicle is called 'Lit C-1'. The Lit C-1 is technically a motorcycle, as it works on two wheels, but it has a chassis that looks a lot like a smart car. Hence it is described as a 'motorbike-car'. The C-1 signifies Codename and the company has also named C-1 nickname as 'Rolling Smart Phone', not only for its innovative navigation systems, but also because it has an integrated tyroscopic stabilization system designed to prevent the C-1 from sliding, even in some collisions. This is a similar technology used by the Segway scooters and the recent Honda UNI-CUB. The technology allows drivers to sit down and use a steering wheel, like in a car, but allows the C-1 to remain perfectly balanced, even at slow speeds or a paralysis. The secret of balance is the gyroscopes under the floor, which rotate quickly in response to electronic sensors to keep the vehicle balanced at all times – even Lit says, if the vehicle is involved in a collision. The gyroscopes, which take advantage of the unique propensity of a rotating steering wheel to stay straight, have been used for some time for stabilization, even on planes and on cruises to reduce the roll caused by waves. However, this will be one of the most unique applications to date, which could allow drivers to switch to smaller vehicles that offer the benefits of a bicycle with the comparative safety of a car. The C-1 uses the power unit and offers a 200-mile (321 km/h) battery pack of a single charge, as well as a maximum speed of more than 120 mph (193 km/h) – much faster than most electric cars available on the market today. It offers various connectivity options such as H2C, H2V, V2V and V2I, so the vehicle and driver can stay alert about adverse traffic conditions and design their route accordingly. While the C-1 is still in the test phase, Lit Motors expects that they will have the vehicle on the road by the end of 2014 and is already offering orders on the website from $250, although the final price of the vehicle is not clear that it is expected to cost $16,000 (Rs. 9 lakhs approximately).
